Only a few days remain to submit an application for the US Lacrosse National Diversity Grant Program, which provides resources to local groups and organizations to support projects and events that promote lacrosse opportunities among non-traditional participants.
The deadline is Monday, February 5.
Six different grant categories are available: Girls’ Initiative, Urban Outreach, Community Impact, Event Support, Disability Access, and BRIDGE.
The application and a fuller explanation of each grant are available online. Qualifications for each grant type are explained in further detail.
“We’re excited to offer these grant opportunities to assist qualifying organizations across the country in making a greater impact for diversity in our sport,” said Eboni Preston-Laurent, senior manager for diversity and inclusion at US Lacrosse. “Connecting people that are traditionally outside the lacrosse community is a primary focus for our diversity and inclusion efforts."
The D&I grants typically range from $1,000 to $3,000, and are awarded via two cycles during the calendar year. Initiated in 2014, the program has funded over $300,000 to support local initiatives over the past three years.
US Lacrosse believes that broad representation and participation add significant value to the lacrosse experience, and seeks to provide sustained leadership and resources for the growth of the game in all communities.
